Getting an appointment out of hours
If you can’t get an appointment with your GP or can’t get there during the day due to work or other commitments you can use the Extended Access service.
Sunderland offers extra appointments seven days a week at five easy to access sites across the city.
Appointments are offered in the evenings from 6-8.30pm and 9-5.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays and even on Bank Holidays appointments are available from 10-2pm.

Washington Primary Care Centre, NE38 7QZ
Bunny Hill Primary Care Centre, SR5 4BW
Houghton Primary Care Centre, DH4 5HB
Pallion Health Centre, SR4 7XF
Riverview Health Centre, SR1 1XW
Sunderland GP Extended Access Opening Times:
Monday – Friday: 6pm – 8:30pm
Weekends: 9am – 5:30pm
Bank Holidays: 10am – 2pm

- NHS 111 can help you get the care you need, including making an Extended Access appointment if that is the best option for you
