Following discussion at the AGM, and as advised in the last newsletter, members were strongly supportive of the Alliance considering submitting a response to the recent APMS Invitation to Tender, subject to a robust financial assessment of the tender terms.
The Alliance is keen to be part of at-scale solutions that help mitigate threats to general practice and assist with the development of better services to patients. However, following a thorough review of the tender opportunity, the directors reluctantly took the decision not to submit a bid.
In summary, the Board felt that they could not be confident of the financial viability of the contract, and noted in particular the requirement to deliver an APMS service specification on GMS funding.
