As more Practices have expressed an interest in having access to a Clinical Pharmacist the Alliance have scoped the NHS England Phase 3 of the pilot, however, due to changes in the Pharmacist to patient ratios and other criteria that is felt too restrictive for Sunderland, a decision has been taken not to pursue this model.
An alternative workforce model is therefore being developed to propose a city wide Clinical Pharmacist resource which will provide access to pharmacists regardless of practice size.
