We are proud to announce that Sunderland GP Alliance have been successful and has been awarded the contract for Health Care Assistant and Practice Nurse Career Start services in Sunderland.
The 2-year programme consists of two cohorts 10 PNs and 10 HCAs who will work within practices whilst undertaking an academic qualification.
There has been an overwhelming response to the Practice Nurse career start advert with shortlisting and interviews being carried out in the next few weeks. We have appointed Jayne McQuillan as the Lead Nurse for the programme to support both the Career Starts and the Practice Nurse Mentors. Jayne has a strong background of nursing and management and she will be coming out to interested practices in next few weeks. This is a very exciting opportunity that will allow us to further develop the workforce within General Practice and continue to plan for the ongoing sustainability of General Practice in Sunderland.
