Following the decision not to move forward with a POD model across Sunderland the CCG have developed a proposal for an alternative service to cease all repeats managed by Community Pharmacies.
Whilst repeat dispensing will continue as normal, practices are encouraged to sign up to this initiative to reduce medicines waste, which will be incentivised until March 2018. The SGPA will be looking at how we can support Practices in the implementation of this scheme to identify those patients for which the service would be inappropriate and to model the impact of taking managed repeats back into Practice.
