The Extended Access working group continue to move at pace to ensure citywide coverage of extended access to GP services for registered patients in Sunderland.
Clinical and Practice Manager representation at bi- weekly steering group meetings continue to work through the detail requirements in developing access to GP practices out of hours. All practices have been sent communication on data sharing to enable read and write access to support this service. Currently the service is providing patients with extended opening until 8pm Monday to Friday and some weekend via the North, West and East localities. The opening of a Washington hub based within the Galleries is hoping to go live in time for Easter subject to necessary IT enablement, with early interest for a potential service in the Coalfields.
